Firefighter in full turnout gear working on scene
Since 1985

Forty years equipping the people who run toward danger.

Time tested, time trusted. It started with a single saw line, and the mission has never changed.

Our story

One saw line became a standard.

Team Equipment was founded in 1985 by John Geras, who introduced Partner cutoff saws (the K12) to the American fire service. That saw became a standard piece of equipment on rigs across the country.

Four decades later, that same focus drives us: source the most capable life-safety equipment in the world, and put it in the hands of the crews who depend on it. From one saw line to 200+ dealers worldwide, what we do has not changed.

  • Specialists who know the gear, not just the catalog
  • Direct relationships with the top life-safety manufacturers
  • Service and support that outlasts the sale

Four decades

How we got here.

From one saw line in 1985 to five industries and 200+ dealers worldwide.

1985

It started with one saw.

Team Equipment is incorporated in Florida on 25 March 1985 by John and Joyce Geras. John was instrumental in bringing Partner cutoff saws into the American fire service, the saw FDNY named the K12, and four decades later it is still the line this company is built on.

Early 1990s

The PW60 becomes a standard.

TEAM introduces its own PW60 plug and wedge kit for spill containment. It goes on to become the best selling wood plug and wedge kit in the country, and it is still in the catalog today alongside the 104 piece MAXIWEDGE that followed it.

1998

We start building our own.

Not just distributing. TEAM launches CRIBLOX interlocking rescue cribbing and the STEP 'N WEDGE extrication stabilizer, both TEAM exclusives, on top of a catalog that already carried Paratech MaxiForce air bags, Partner rescue saws and AMPCO non-sparking tools.

2004

The SHARK arrives.

The TEAM SHARK ventilation chainsaw is built specifically for cutting roofs, and it becomes one of the products the company is known for. The SHARK II and SHARK III MAX followed in 2013 with tungsten carbide tipped chain.

2007

PIRAYA. It cuts everything.

TEAM begins national distribution of the PIRAYA diamond blade for rescue saws. The same year the factory changes the K12FD from yellow to orange, a detail every crew who owned one still remembers.

2011

The federal government starts calling.

The first federal prime contract: a SuperMega rescue saw kit for the US Army. It becomes a continuous record of 22 awards through 2025, including a US Navy fire and rescue equipment contract in 2014.

US Navy · Marine Corps · Air Force · Army · DHS · State Department · US Marshals
2013

Thermal changes everything.

TEAM adds FLIR and commits to knowing thermal imaging better than anyone else in the region. Within three years the company is a master distributor for the FLIR K-Series, and thermal becomes the line we are known for.

2014

Into the water.

The marine damage control line begins, built around the TEAM Splinter Box Patch, DC shoring and grab-and-go response bags. What started as one category is now a whole side of the business.

2018

New hands on the wheel.

Patricia J. Reddy, who joined as Vice President in 2004, becomes President, with Thomas Reddy as Vice President. Same address, same phone number, same standard.

2021

Exclusive US master dealer for Ring Rescue.

TEAM becomes the exclusive US master dealer in the fire sector for the Ring Rescue compression device, the tool that takes a stuck ring off a swollen finger without cutting it.

2022

The K12 goes battery.

The K1 PACE K12FD-E14 arrives: 94 volts, no fuel, no carburetor, no pull start, and power that rivals its gas peers. Nearly forty years on, the K12 is still the saw we are known for.

2026

Forty-one years. Five industries.

First responder, utilities, manufacturing, warehousing and marine crews in every state and beyond, supported by 200+ dealers worldwide. Same company, same phone number, same standard.
